Carbon Neutrality From Inception

Triple Flag sees climate change as a global imperative and we are strong supporters of decarbonization and the global transition to a low carbon economy. Triple Flag has chosen not to invest in oil and gas or coal.

To demonstrate this commitment, Triple Flag has achieved carbon neutrality for our own greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as well as the attributable share of Scope 3 GHG emissions from our investment portfolio, since our inception in 2016. We have offset these emissions by investing in high-quality certified offset projects through Native Energy and Climate Care, offsetting nearly 30 kt CO2e from 2016 – 2020. Going forward, our strategy will include engagement with our counterparties around climate change risks and opportunities.

We believe we have a role to play in driving our sector in a more transparent and accountable direction for climate change action. Triple Flag is committed to publicly reporting on our Scope 1, 2 and attributable share of Scope 3 GHG emissions, beginning with our first Sustainability Report to be published in Q3 2021. We will continue to elaborate our climate change strategy to guide and target our efforts to support decarbonization and lead by example.
